The Two Fatalities Named in Brown University Incident as Authorities Continue Search for Gunman.

Two students who were killed in the recent violent attack in Providence were honored at the start of the week – as a manhunt for their assailant persisted following the freeing by authorities in Rhode Island of the sole person detained in connection in the case.

Honoring a Lost Student

The student Ella Cook, a second-year student from Alabama, was called “an amazing, stable, pious, radiant soul”, per the Birmingham's Cathedral Church of the Advent, which offered condolences for her at a service on Sunday.

The other person killed was an Uzbek national named MukhammadAziz Umurzokov, from Uzbekistan in his freshman year at the renowned school, his family confirmed.

His name was confirmed by the Uzbek Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“He possessed remarkable kindness, humor, and intelligence. He harbored grand aspirations of becoming a neurosurgeon and assisting patients,” his sibling Samira said in a tribute.

The Shooting Incident

An additional nine individuals were hurt in Saturday’s attack in the engineering department of Brown’s university in Providence, during the institution's end-of-term tests.
