FC Barcelona to Host First Match at Upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday
The club confirmed they will play at the partially upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday. The club will host the Basque side in the Spanish league over two years following their departure for construction to commence.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available but 45,401 spectators can be present based on approved permits. After final construction, the Camp Nou is due to hold almost 105,000 spectators, up from the previous 99,000. The club said recent additions comprise an updated entryway for the team along with upgraded changing facilities.
Preparatory Events
Barça organized an open training session on the home pitch earlier this month. Officials stated approval is being pursued by UEFA to play their next home Champions League game versus the German side on 9 December at Camp Nou. Their recent games have been held at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
