Comedian and author David Walliams parted ways with longtime publisher.

The author

Prolific children's author and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.

An official for the company stated: "Following a thorough review, and under the leadership of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish additional books by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the conclusion was reached following an inquiry regarding allegations of questionable actions directed at young women.

The company did not confirm the specific rationale behind the move, stating: "We do not comment on internal matters."

An Illustrious Publishing History

Walliams stands as a most best-selling authors for kids, boasting over more than 60 million copies worldwide in five dozen languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins back in 2008.

Some of his books, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as TV movies.

He has published more than 40 books altogether, encompassing a holiday title titled *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins last autumn.

A Dual Career

His career breakthrough occurred on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE several years ago honoring his contributions to the charitable sector and arts community.

This move occurs subsequent to the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive last fall.
