Actor Rejects Anti-Vaxxer Stance Following Lending His Voice To Contentious Coronavirus Film

Liam Neeson has given his voice to a feature-length documentary that casts doubt on the legitimacy of vaccines and commends one-time health official the political figure.

The Documentary's Contentious Basis

Titled "Plague of Corruption," the project is adapted from a well-known publication written by a disgraced researcher, who gained notoriety during the global outbreak for claims that the illness was caused by a faulty batch of the seasonal immunization.

The book's writing partner, the executive producer, has previously authored books with controversial figure Alex Jones. Heckenlively recently posted celebrating Neeson's role in the project.

A Strong Statement

The team of Liam Neeson have issued a statement firmly refuting implications that he subscribes to anti-vax sentiments.

"Many acknowledge that misconduct can exist within the drug industry, but that should never be conflated with opposition to vaccines," the statement explains. "He is not, and remains not, anti-vaccination. His extensive work with Unicef underscores his long-held support for public-health initiatives."

It noted that the star had no hand in the film's editorial content and that questions about its content are best addressed to the producers.

Central Assertions Featured in the Documentary

According to the documentary, the script provided by Neeson features several provocative claims:

  • It suggests that pro-vaccine voices have demanded "blind obedience" to government bodies.
  • It posits that "research has become dangerously influenced by politics."
  • Kennedy is featured stating, "The core flaw with vaccines is that they just aren't adequately tested."
  • The film also criticizes pandemic restrictions, saying they caused psychological harm that led to the loss of thousands of lives.
  • Concerning pandemic shots, it mentions a view that they were "rushed to market" and seen as "hazardous tests."

Past Context and Current Issues

The film includes a past television report about clinical trials on children, which was later the focus of a formal apology by the network for violations of guidelines.

Last month, RFK Jr directed the CDC to change its longstanding position that there is no connection between immunizations and autism. This claim is echoed in the film, despite a fresh analysis from the World Health Organisation reiterating no such link has been found.

A Previous Record of Support

Standing in contrast to the film's tone, Neeson has formerly expressed strong support for vaccines in his role as a Unicef global ambassador.

In 2022, he referred to vaccines as "an incredible triumph," stating that "The debate about vaccines in recent years has forgotten how much positive impact they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest collective achievements in our history."

The documentary concludes with Neeson's script proclaiming, "This marks not the finish of our narrative. Rather, it is the dawn of a new chapter."
